I may not agree with all of his communications tactics, but there’s something to be said about Mitt Romney’s rise to the top of GOP Bloggers monthly straw poll. After a third-place finish in December, Romney won the January poll with 27.6% of the vote.
Stephen Smith, Romney’s director of online communications, highlighted the results today [...]

At least that’s what I gather from Patrick Ruffini and Michael Turk, both of whom criticize Blog P.I.’s Bill Beutler for his recent analysis of conservative and liberal fundraising sites.
I ws one of the founding bloggers behind Rightroots, an ABC PAC creation that raised money for 21 Republican congressional candidates. With the support of six [...]

This week was supposed to catapult Mitt Romney to a new level — one rivaling Sen. John McCain for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination. And no question, the week had its high points — the $6.5 million fundraising haul on Monday and Sen. Jim DeMint’s (R.-S.C.) endorsement on Tuesday. However, communications blunders have left Romney [...]
As loyal Right Angle readers have probably noticed, our very good friend Matt Lewis has left us. Earlier this week he started a new job as director of operations at Townhall.com.
Lewis won’t easily be replaced, but his prot√©g√©, Matt Naugle, has done an admirable job so far. (Naugle was the first blogger to report on [...]
Sen. Barbara Boxer’s personal attack on Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice yesterday at a Senate hearing is prompting calls for an apology today. The White House is leading the charge, calling the remarks “outrageous.”
Boxer’s statement to Rice came during testimony about President Bush’s new plan for Iraq. Boxer, according to the Fox News, said this [...]

Andy Roth at the Club for Growth notes the “high [...]

A source close to Sen. John McCain’s presidential exploratory committee tells HUMAN EVENTS that McCain’s team had nothing to do with the video that appeared yesterday on YouTube showing GOP rival Mitt Romney at a 1994 debate with Sen. Teddy Kennedy (D.-Mass.).
The video sent Romney’s newly formed campaign team into overdrive, prompting the former Massachusetts [...]
Rep. Duncan Hunter, the top Republican on the House Armed Services Committee, spoke to HUMAN EVENTS this morning about President Bush’s new plan for Iraq. The California congressman is contemplating a run for the presidency in 2008.
Hunter, who attended a White House ceremony for the late Cpl. Jason Dunham this morning, had to split the [...]
