A Bad Deal for American Workers

James Sherk of the Heritage Foundation and Paul Kersey of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy have put together two excellent pieces making the case against the so-called Employee Free Choice Act, which passed the House last week but faces an uncertain future in the Senate.

The first piece explains why the bill is a bad deal for workers. The second details why binding arbitration for unions endangers competitiveness.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has done a wonderful job keeping Republicans united, should be able to round up the 60 votes needed to make sure this unpopular, anti-democratic payoff to Democrat special interests never reaches the president’s desk. That being said, it’s not a bad idea to call your senators and voice your opposition to the Employee Free Choice Act.
