Vote for the Online Politician of the Year
Posted by: Rob Bluey In: Politics| Technology
Fellow Ithaca College alumnus John Neurohr is doing a superb job over at the Politics Online Conference blog, which features a new post about the Golden Dot People’s Choice Award for Impact Moment and Online Politician of the Year.
My pick for Impact Moment is Ned Lamont’s campaign for U.S. Senate in Connecticut. Lamont became the first candidate to benefit from the support of the netroots and, despite losing in the general election, showed everyone that bloggers can make a difference — both in online fundraising and grassroots activism.
My vote for the latter award, Online Politician of the Year, has to go to Rep. Jack Kingston, who set a new standard for online communications on Capitol Hill. (His press secretary, David All, really deserves the award, but for obvious reasons, he’s not eligible.)
Voting will close at noon on the first day of the conference, March 15, so don’t delay. Cast your vote today.
