Conservative blogger and journalist with a passion for politics, sports and family
My good friends at Regnery Publishing mailed me Hugh Hewitt’s new book on Mitt Romney yesterday, and after plowing through part of it today, I must say I’m impressed by both its thoroughness and Hewitt’s passion for Romney.
The book, “A Mormon in the White House?: 10 Things Every American Should Know about Mitt Romney,” hits stores at a crucial time for Romney (pictured above with wife Ann). As he tries to build name recognition and define who he is to conservatives, Romney needs all the help he can get. With Rudy Giuliani and John McCain well ahead in polls, Romney needs something to help him catch fire. Hewitt’s book could be the answer.
Am I putting too much stock in a radio host and blogger? Perhaps. But given the track record of the book’s publisher (the same publisher that produced “Unfit for Command” in 2004), stranger things have happened. (Disclaimer: Regnery is a sister company to my former employer and sister company to RedState, where I blog.)
Meanwhile, I’m looking forward to the rest of Hewitt’s book. It’s organized in three sections, the first explaining who Romney is, the second examining his beliefs, and the third analyzing the presidential campaign. Although Hewitt says this isn’t an “authorized” biography, the Romney campaign probably couldn’t ask for anything better.
