Are Conservative Bloggers Lazy or Just Cheap?
Matt Lewis wants to know why so few conservatives were at the Politics Online Conference. I can only guess they either didn’t feel like traveling to Washington for the two-day conference or didn’t want to pay the $500 fee to attend. Or could it actually be something deeper?
Lewis suggests conservatives don’t want to go because liberals dominate the conference. That’s true on many levels. Aside from the handful of conservatives Lewis notes in his post, I didn’t run into any others. But it also extends to the awards. Of the 18 Golden Dot Awards given out last night, conservatives or Republicans won just three. (Kudos to fellow blogger Mary Katharine Ham for winning the Best Vlog award.)
How do we change the left’s domination? We can start by showing up.
