Vice President Bluey
Missy and I are back from a nice weekend in Ithaca, where we said goodbye to a former colleague, reconnected with old friends and got down to business on the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
One of the difficult tasks of this morning’s board meeting was filling the vice president’s position left vacant by Susan DiPace’s death. I decided to run for the job after some young alumni on the board encouraged me to pursue a leadership role. Going into the meeting, I was confident I had support from the board but no idea if I had the votes to win. Turns out I did. (I could be wrong, but I think this is the first time I’ve ever been elected to any office.)
But enough abut that. I have a few other notes from the weekend. First, I want to thank loyal Bluey Blog readers Dan Tillapaugh, John Bradac and Michael Serino, all of whom I was able to spend time with this weekend. For those of you I’m missing, please send me an e-mail. Secondly, I couldn’t help but notice the changes taking place on campus — both behind the scenes and in full view. It’s great to see so much activity. And finally, I want to thank the Ithaca College staff, especially Marsha Eger, for wonderful hospitality this weekend. Everything was perfect! We can’t wait to come back for Alumni Weekend.
