<description>Regarding energy - and nuclear power - it’s unfortunate that the public has little understanding of how electricity is really made and what the pros and cons of each source are. The fact that we can have debates over whether to go with nuclear or &quot;renewables&quot; demonstrates this - - both have their roles to play, but they are quite different. And as a nuclear plant worker, I can tell you just about everything you see and read on the topic has little to do with the day-to-day goings on at an atomic plant. This applies to boosters and detractors alike, be they politicians like Senator Reid or one of the many pundits who has offered an opinion.

To get some entertaining background on the real world of nuclear energy see my blog for “Rad Decision,” a thriller novel and a nuclear plant tour in one. It’s provided at no cost to readers at http://RadDecision.blogspot.com and is now in paperback. Comments at the website homepage are quite favorable. Thanks.
