We just got back from the Matt Brewing Co. for a celebration of the end of Prohibition. We took my parents and in-laws on a tour of the brewery and sampled the newest Saranac product, Pomegranate Wheat. Here’s a description of the beer:

Deep in the heart of the Adirondacks, a top secret grove of pomegranates grow wild and free. They are protected by “ferocious” bears! We traded them ten tons of honey to make this unique brew. This wholesome combination of unfiltered wheat beer and real pomegranate juice makes a smooth refreshing beer with all the goodness of pomegranate. Perfect for the summer months, Saranac Pomegranate Wheat is light in body with a slight tart finish.

In all the years I’ve been on the brewery tour, I think this may have been the first one in winter. Not much is different, except you don’t get to ride on the trolley at the end. It was a fun day. I’ll be adding photos to Flickr later.
