Now You Can Grade House Republicans

Rep. Eric Cantor, originally uploaded by Rob Bluey.
Rep. Eric Cantor (R.-Va.) is one of those members who gets it. So it’s not surprising that he has a great blog and is always trying to come up with new ideas to advance the movement.
Cantor’s latest innovation is a report card that allows you to grade House Republicans on their performance so far in the minority. It asks questions about the GOP’s tactics on the House floor, the party’s communication with bloggers and Republicans’ performance highlighting the Democrats’ mistakes. While the questions are a little leading, I think it’s terrific that Cantor is soliciting feedback. I just wish we could see how people are grading the GOP, but that’s a quibble that could be addressed later.
As the House Republicans’ chief deputy whip, Cantor holds an important position in the GOP hierarchy. And with a lifetime rating of 96% from the American Conservative Union, conservatives can count him as an ally.

Cantor’s idea’s are somewhat novel. Actually having the ability to tell House members how you feel about the job they are doing, and Congress overall, is an idea long overdue.
The people of this nation spoke loudly when they rejected illegal alien amnesty & demanded the govt. actually enforce immigration laws. Now, the admin. & bureaucrats are obfuscating, evading, deflecting, and outright lying, while they do little or nothing, but at least Congress got the message the people are angry & demand they do their jobs.
If Dem’s get more control of Congress &/or the White House, those citizens complaints will mean absolutely nothing. Dem’s are planning their future by pandering to illegal aliens who they suspect will vote for those who provide the handouts & ultimately the real ticket to benefits, citizenship or legal status.
Until then, we can still apply pressure on current Republicans & House & Senate Dem’s who got elected on a tough on illegal aliens platform. Heaven help us if we lose too much control.
FYI, for those who immediately cringe at my illegal alien feelings… I am NOT a bigot. This is NOT a racial issue. This is a security & national economical survival issue. As we glut the nation w/ ultra cheap labor, greedy employers are deliberately driving down living wages for any job they can fill with a willing alien,
legal or not. Look at the meat-packers in middle America. The jobs paid considerably more ten years ago, w/ benefits, when mostly citizens held the jobs. Today, the jobs pay significantly less, there are fewer if any benefits, & virtually no job security.
Unions are foolishly backing illegal alien amnesty, while the rank & file pay their dues for a leadership that is politically & perhaps personally profiting from their cooperation.
Securing the border is the real deal because without it, ANY solution for those already here will only attract millions more looking for the next solution (read: advantageous deal). And any solution must “severely” limit the numbers of others former illegal aliens would be able to piggy back in. That will remove one of the real incentives to stay.
We must also begin to expose Mexico’s highly restrictive & harsh immigration laws, when they hypocritically chastise us for looking to secure our borders & have our laws be respected & enforced.
