An Afternoon at the Ballpark

Mary Katharine Ham and Rob Bluey at Citizens Bank Park, originally uploaded by Rob Bluey.
Readers of Bluey Blog know how much I love baseball, so when a couple friends, Mary Katharine Ham (pictured with me) and Gary Marx, said they wanted to go to this afternoon’s baseball game between the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals, it was just too hard to say no.
We saw a great game. The Nats ended the Phillies win streak at five, coming away with a 4-2 victory. Ryan Church had two RBI and Chad Cordero got the save, helping me pick up some much-needed stats in fantasy baseball.
Up next is tonight’s Resource Bank dinner with former Speaker Newt Gingrich, who will deliver the Krieble Lecture. After that there’s a dessert reception celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Fund for American Studies, a group I know quite well because of its Institute for Political Journalism.
