Conservative blogger and journalist with a passion for politics, sports and family
A few days after I penned a column for Townhall last month applauding the Defense Department’s outreach to bloggers, military brass crafted a new policy that has stirred up a revolt in the blogosphere. Mary Katharine Ham put it this way: “How to Lose the Information War for Good: The Death of Combat Blogging.” I remarked to Hugh Hewitt last night that I specifically asked about the policy in advance of writing the column. No one said anything about the fact it would be revised less than a week later.
Hewitt is all over the story with a column, radio interviews and several blog posts (here, here and here). Meanwhile, not all conservatives are on the same page. My friend Joe Carter at Evangelical Outpost is defending the military’s policy.
All this debate should make this Saturday’s Milblog Conference quite interesting.
