National Memorial Day Parade
As I mentioned earlier, Missy and I went to the National Memorial Day Parade, which ran along Constitution Avenue NW from 7th Street (Archives) to 17th Street (the White House). We stood right at 12th Street, which didn’t seem too crowded compared to other areas. I snapped a lot of photos as you can see from the slideshow above. This was a great event. Actor Gary Sinise was the grand marshal and Hall of Fame pitcher Bob Feller made an appearance. Of course, the real stars were the veterans, including a 106-year-old veteran from World War I. I’d highly recommend this parade and will definitely plan to return next year.
