Fred Thompson Twitters

Posted by: Rob Bluey In: Politics| Technology

I was at a dinner with Jon Henke tonight telling him how House Minority Whip Roy Blunt was the latest politician to join Twitter. The next thing I know, Fred Thompson has added me as a Twitter friend. Coincidence? If Henke works that fast, he’s really good. My guess is that it was already in the works to coincide with Thompson’s appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Regardless of how it went down, welcome to Twitter, Fred. You’re blazing a new trail for Republicans online.

UPDATE — June 13, 10:12 p.m.: He also has a blog and is on social networking sites MySpace and Facebook as well as YouTube.

@jayrosen_nyu Wow, Howard really showed his liberal stripes in that interview. Must be trying to live up the elite media stereotype. #rnc08
