Rudy Giuliani’s 12 Commitments

Posted by: Rob Bluey In: Politics

Rudy Giuliani, originally uploaded by phanephotog.

Former New York mayor and Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani made these 12 commitments today. A good list (especially No. 2) and a great way for conservatives to hold him accountable.

1. I will keep America on offense in the Terrorists’ War on Us.
2. I will end illegal immigration, secure our borders, and identify every non-citizen in our nation.
3. I will restore fiscal discipline and cut wasteful Washington spending.
4. I will cut taxes and reform the tax code.
5. I will impose accountability on Washington.
6. I will lead America towards energy independence.
7. I will give Americans more control over, and access to, healthcare with affordable and portable free-market solutions.
8. I will increase adoptions, decrease abortions, and protect the quality of life for our children.
9. I will reform the legal system and appoint strict constructionist judges.
10. I will ensure that every community in America is prepared for terrorist attacks and natural disasters.
11. I will provide access to a quality education to every child in America by giving real school choice to parents.
12. I will expand America’s involvement in the global economy and strengthen our reputation around the world.

As a New Yorker, I can say if Rudy says he’ll do it- it’ll get done.

What a load of crap! Talk about a lack of specifics. How about a 13th? “I will not fornicate with a woman outside of marriage ever again, ever. I swear this time I mean it.”

The appealing thing about Rudy is that we all know that if he gets elected, once he arrives in DC – 1st thing – he’ll toss the “New Tone” into the garbage where it belongs and he’ll stop allowing the GOP to be the Dem’s door mat. That one aspect is what is keeping his numbers up, I believe. Folks are sick of “W”’s new tone method. My big concern is that his firm, Bracewell/Giuliani, as I understand it, one of their huge clients is/was the Mexican gov’t. That worries me if true. The GOP must understand that if they don’t nominate a strong “build the fence” candidate, they’ll lose Texas’ 34 electoral votes to the dem’s. He needs much more clarity on this item #2. DD

Guilliani’s 12 Commitments translated from vague politician-speak to plain English (I would like to point out before starting that in no way does any of this constitute a personal or ad hominem attack on Mr. Giulianni whatsoever, I am siimply pointing out the principles behind this document and will not comment on the man himself):

1. I will bomb Iran back to the stone age after I annihilate Iraq with nukes.

2. I will terrorize all people darker than pink in the name of ending illegal immigration and fighting terrorism while actually doing absolutely nothing to even slow either.

3. Your taxes will only go to defense spending and my major corporate backers from now on.

4. More tax cuts for the rich.

5. I will rid Washington of my political enemies. Krystalnacht for liberals.

6. Iran is ours.

7. I will disregard this committment once I’m elected.

8. I have telekinesis and can move things with my mind.

9. Don’t worry James Dobson, I’ll do whatever you tell me, I’m your man.

10. I will ensure that every community in America is so scared of being attacked by vaguely-defined, unreasoning terrorists that they are willing to give up every constitutional right they have ever had.

11. I will further defund public schools that have already been so hopelessly defunded that they make an easy target for people who say public schools don’t work.

12. I will bomb Iran.

Does Rudy plan to honor these committments the way he honored the committments he made to his wives? At what point does he get tired of the U.S. and start sleeping with other countries? Anyone who listens to, or worse, trusts, a word that comes out of that serial liar’s mouth is being played for a fool. The man is a complete phony – New Yorkers have known that for years, but Rudy just can’t wait to f**k the rest of over as well. And Darvin, let me clue you in – Rudy’s kissy-face with the Mexican gov’t is completely par for the course. If there’s money to be made, St. Rudy will grasp it with both hands even if it’s the devil himself making the offer. Learn a bit about the man’s background before you start lionizing him. He has no scruples whatsoever; the only thing that matters to Rudy is Rudy. Just pray that you don’t have to discover that the hard way.

joebloe: I didn’t say I supported him. I’m supporting Duncan Hunter. But I like most of the GOP candidates, personally. Most very capable men. Compared to the Dem flock of candidates. Of course I don’t agree w/Rudy on certain issues. But I picture Rudy up there debating Hillary. He’d absolutely humiliate her. As would most of the candidates. I don’t see how anyone can not be optimistic what with all the great candidates we GOP’rs have. DD

I will end illegal immigration, secure our borders, and identify every non-citizen in our nation.

In order to do that, don’t you also have to identify every citizen?

How would that happen? National ID cards?

The terrorists appear to have terrorized nobody more than Rudy and his minions who will follow him goosestepping into the brilliant light of authoritarianism.

So much for limited government.
