I give William Kristol credit for trying. Today in the Washington Post, he makes the case why George W. Bush’s presidency will be viewed as a success.

Kristol said “What about terrorism? Apart from Iraq, there has been less of it, here and abroad, than many experts predicted on Sept. 12, 2001. So Bush and Vice President Cheney probably are doing some important things right. The war in Afghanistan has gone reasonably well.”
Apart from Iraq? WTF! Just as Johnson is judged by Vietnam so should Bush be judged overwhelmingly with his choice to go to and his execution of this failed attempt at a war. Plus the war in afghanistan is going reasonably well? Again WTF! Osama hasnt been caught. The Taliban is in resurgence. Al Quaida is in resurgence with some intel agencies saying they are as strong today as they were before 911. So what the hell does “well” mean to Kristol. Maybe he’s confused with the word “screwed”.
And as the lead cheerleader for the PNAC he should be in jail for treason. Simple enough. Why the Washington Post or Time magazine give him ink is beyond me.
Oh… and I love how he blame’s Bush’ failure on staffers that dont support his policies enough. At what point will Krisol give blame where its due… Cheney and Bushtard.

I think that Bush will be remembered for being President when 9/11 happened, and our regime change/invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. He will be remembered for the Patriot Act and Gitmo. I believe he will also be remembered for having divided this country, and allowing Dick Cheney to run a great deal of his administration. He will be remembered for being a lame duck in his second term in office.
