Senate Slumber Party

Political theatrics were on full display last night in the U.S. Senate with Democrats’ staging an all-night session to debate Iraq. The liberal slumber party featured a variety of interesting propaganda tactics, including an all-night live-blogging fest at Think Progress. Turns out the Think Progress crew bailed at 12:27 a.m., leaving more than 1,000 commenters in the dark. So much for that.

UPDATE — 9:36 a.m.: My colleagues James Jay Carafano and James Phillips have put together an excellent paper on the Levin-Reed amendment to cut and run from Iraq. The Senate will vote on it this morning.

UPDATE — 9:40 a.m.: Meanwhile, there’s good news coming out of Iraq today. The U.S. military says it captured a top al Qaeda figure.
