Date Change Could Salvage CNN/YouTube Debate

Posted by: Rob Bluey In: Politics

I just got word that CNN and YouTube are working feverishly at this very moment to salvage the Republican debate by possibly changing the date to accommodate the candidates’ schedules. It’s currently set for Sept. 17 in Florida.

“We’re working with the campaigns to resolve any scheduling issues,” said David Bohrman, CNN senior vice president and Washington bureau chief. Another source confirmed that a date change was possible.

Patrick Ruffini reported earlier that Rudy Giuliani is not opposed to the format, but has a scheduling conflict. I was also told earlier in the day that Mitt Romney is still wavering because of a busy schedule.

Meanwhile, conservative bloggers are uniting to save the debate. There’s more on Hot Air.

Why bother with a station that is viewed by only 176,000 people per day. CNN hates anything not socialist so why give them a boost in viewers when the same debate on Fox would generate 20,000,000 or more.

Robert,

I was very pleased to see that you and David All are helping push Republican candidates in the right direction on this one.

Candidates have always known that they need to go where the people gather (i.e., Clinton and MTV). Why don’t our guys get that the people and the energy are on the Internet?
