Iraq War Vets Get Political

Posted by: Rob Bluey In: Clippings

When Army Gen. David Petraeus comes to Washington next month to testify about the surge in Iraq, he’ll be greeted by some familiar faces. Military veterans on both sides of the Iraq debate are becoming politically active. Today on Townhall I write about two groups that are organizing veterans — one in support of the war and the other opposed to it.

UPDATE — 10:15 a.m.: This morning I had an e-mail from the Gathering of Eagles, a group that brought 30,000 people to Washington in March in support of the war effort. Those vets will be making a return trip in September. My apologies for failing to mention it in the column.

The War (in Iraq) was political from the start, so what’s new? Thank God that the primary brain will soon be gone. The secondary brain will soon atrophy.

Just saw two helicopters flying over Thurmont, MD. I wonder if the Obamas are visiting Camp David?

@MelissaTweets Nope, I'm in Atlanta. Don't think there's a Chick-fil-A at Reagan.

Took a detour to terminal A. Nothing is better than a Chick-fil-A chicken biscuit for breakfast. http://yfrog.com/0vgjyj
