Dunder Mifflin Has a Branch in Utica

Posted by: Rob Bluey In: Media

The fourth season of “The Office” is only about two weeks away. In anticipation of the season premiere on Sept. 27, over the weekend we bought the DVD of the third season, which was released last Tuesday. We watched the first two episodes and some deleted scenes last night.

Meanwhile, Missy was checking out NBC’s website for show when she noticed a link to Dunder Mifflin, the imaginary paper company in Scranton, Pa., where they all work. I finally got a chance to check it out myself and I must say it’s a very clever way to market the show. I was particularly excited to see there’s a branch near my hometown of Utica, N.Y.

UPDATE — 5:10 p.m.: My good friend Ivy Larsen sent me this link to an “alarm clock that wakes you up with the smell and sizzle of cooking bacon” — an inside joke for us “Office” nerds.

Hey, Rob. I forgot to tell you about my trip to Utica! Well, not really TO Utica, but I spent the night there while traveling from Killington, VT to South Bend, IN for a double-packed week of weddings. I stayed at the Avalon Hotel, which was GREAT and was very close to the Saranac Brewery. Chris and I when there on a whim and ended up walking out with case of their pumpkin brew–it’s delish!

That’s awesome, Amanda. Next time you’re there (if ever) you should take a tour of the brewery. It’s one of my favorite things to do.

@ericarhendry I wondering if any Ithacan people were on Twitter. Let me know if there's anyone else from IC that I should be following.
