I have not read any of the comments in this blog but, of everything I have heard on this issue I have yet to hear anyone say the most obvious punishment. The league could have decided to hand down whatever punishment they wanted I would not argue a thing as long as the first thing handed down was a loss. Anything after that would be up to them. In any other sport cheating is grounds for disqualification resulting in a loss. Why isnt that the issue here. These NFL teams make far too much money for a fine to be a punishment, as far as I am concerned the Patriots as an organization paid a little more for the New York Jets vicotry. Can someone explain why no one is saying this is what should have been handed down, am I wrong?

Personally, I think attempting to gather intel on the other side is just as much a part of the game as opposition research is in politics. Everyone is doing it, everyone has to have some of it, but there are things that are over the line... and if you get caught, you get punished.

As long as they're applying the same rules/standards to everyone, it sounds pretty reasonable.

I had no idea Dean was Romney's former driver. When an unnamed Townhall staffer recently asked sarcastically, "Who is Dean Barnett?" I just shrugged my shoulders. Now I'll have an answer.
