Health and Human Services Secretary Mike Leavitt is using modern technology to counter misconceptions about the Bush Administration’s position on SCHIP and respond to critics who have accused the administration of disregarding poor children.
In a post yesterday on his blog, Leavitt dissects criticism left in the form of a comment from John E. McDonough, executive director of Health Care For All, a Massachusetts consumer health advocacy organization.
I’ve praised Leavitt in the past for embracing technology, but I honestly had pretty low expectations for his blog. I must say, however, that I’ve been pleasantly surprised that he’s been fairly active, particularly on an important policy debate like SCHIP.
