The Heritage Foundation has taken its Computer-Assisted Research and Reporting class on the road. Today and tomorrow I’ll be in Missouri with a group of broadcast journalists who will learn how to find and use data for their reporting. The class is being taught by Mark Tapscott of the Washington Examiner, Bill Beach of the Heritage Foundation and Greg Elin of the Sunlight Foundation.
The boot camp is being sponsored by the Show-Me Institute, a free-market think tank in Missouri, with the help of the Missouri Broadcasters Association. Our attendees today are mostly from TV news stations in Kansas City and the surrounding area. Tomorrow we’ll be in St. Louis for a second day of training.
