The House of Representative today voted 418-0 to condemn the vandalism that took place last month at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The bill was sponsored by Rep. John Carter (R-Tex.).

This act of vandalism cannot and should not be tolerated. Passing this resolution reaffirms our respect for our veterans who fought in the Vietnam War. They fought with honor and with principle, and we respect them as our warriors who did their job and should have been treated with honor and respect when they came home.

The vandalism is believed to have taken place on Sept. 7, tarnishing 14 of the wall’s 140 panels. The unidentified substance has been difficult to remove. (Click here for more photos.)
