The long-awaited episode of “The Office” featuring Dunder Mifflin’s Utica, N.Y., branch airs tonight on NBC. I know my parents are looking forward to it, as should the entire city of Utica. Former Scranton employee Karen Filippelli, who left the show after last season, makes a return appearance tonight. According to the episode’s description, Karen tries to recruit Stanley to the Utica branch, prompting a battle of the branches.

@jayrosen_nyu Wow, Howard really showed his liberal stripes in that interview. Must be trying to live up the elite media stereotype. #rnc08
