NTU Picks a New President

Posted by: Rob Bluey In: Politics

The National Taxpayers Union today named Duane Parde as its new president, succeeding John Berthoud, who unexpectedly passed away in September. Parde has most recently worked in the private sector, and he previously spent more than a decade at the helm of the American Legislative Exchange Council.

Here’s a quote from NTU chairman David Stanley:

Duane Parde embodies the kind of selfless and tireless dedication to limited government for which our departed colleague John Berthoud was so admired. We have absolute confidence that Duane’s steady hand, sharp mind, and passionate voice will take NTU and NTUF to exciting victories in the years ahead.

Berthoud certainly left big shoes to be filled, but I trust that Parde will be up to the task given his background and experience on the important issues that NTU champions.

@jayrosen_nyu Wow, Howard really showed his liberal stripes in that interview. Must be trying to live up the elite media stereotype. #rnc08
