Conservative blogger and journalist with a passion for politics, sports and family
As I catch up on what’s been happening at Heritage’s bloggers’ briefings tonight, I’d be remiss if I didn’t put in a plug for two great authors who spoke the past couple weeks. Both have books in stores now.
Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton dropped by Heritage last Tuesday to share the inside scoop about his new book, “Surrender Is Not an Option.” I’ve always admired Bolton for his work long before President Bush picked him to represent our country at the United Nations.
Bolton did a phenomenal job answering questions last week, tackling everything from the nuclear threat posed by Iran and North Korea to his longtime friendship with Clarence Thomas. Having interviewed him during my previous job at Human Events when he was ambassador, it was refreshing to hear him speak so candidly last week about the foreign policy challenges we face as a nation.
I’d strongly encourage you to read recaps of the meeting written by Joe Mansour, Quin Hillyer, Brian Faughnan and Soren Dayton.
While on the topic of foreign policy, I also want to recommend Ken Timmerman’s new book, “Shadow Warriors.” Timmerman, an investigative reporter for NewsMax, sheds light on the traitorous behavior of people at the CIA and State Department who have leaked America’s secrets, threatening to do great harm to our country as a result.
Special thanks to Chas Geer for snapping the photo of Bolton and me.
