Throughout last night’s Steelers-Dolphins game I listened to updates about Sean Taylor’s prognosis after a gunshot wound early yesterday morning. After reading the morning paper and seeing the upbeat comments from his teammates and coaches, it struck me with great alarm that he passed away today, having never regained consciousness following seven hours of surgery.
Although I’m not a Redskins fan and only followed Taylor from the coverage in the Washington Post, it’s a heartbreaking tragedy. It certainly puts a new perspective on the game that’s played on the field.
