I was up early and working late yesterday to make sure the Heritage Foundation’s new-look homepage made a smooth debut. Because even the tiniest of problems can create the biggest headaches, yesterday made for an interesting adventure. This project was particularly challenging given the condensed time frame we had to get it done.
The new look is really just a temporary fix until we can complete a holistic redesign in the coming months. My blog’s designer, Jesse Thomas, is responsible for the design, including my favorite part: the clean and crisp rotating-stories box.
The redesign incorporates the two new campaigns we launched today: our 10-year Leadership for America campaign, which defines 10 “big ideas” that will guide us over that period, and a year-long What Would Reagan Do? ad campaign. The Reagan campaign is a joint effort with Sean Hannity’s and Laura Ingraham’s radio shows. Heritage will have 30-second ads on each show every day for the rest of 2008, and Sean and Laura will talk about how Reagan would have handled current events.
Feedback is always welcome, so I’d encourage you to leave a comment below. We’ll be making updates regularly over the next few weeks and months; check back often for changes and always a fresh supply of great research, videos and policy proposals.
