Advise the Next President on Health Care
Health care will arguably be the most important domestic policy issue facing the next president, so what better way to engross yourself in it than to actually advise John McCain or Barack Obama about what to do. The Kaiser Family Foundation is sponsoring a student essay contest with a $1,000 first-place award and $500 for second place.
The date is November 24th, 2008. You have just started a job as an analyst working on the President-elect’s health care transition team. The director of the transition team has asked you to draft a memo to flesh out the health priorities for the new Administration on a major health policy issue.
Check out the essay contest rules for more information. The deadline is March 17. And, of course, I’d encourage you to visit the Heritage Foundation’s health care section for more information about the changes our country faces in the area of health care policy.
Hat tip to Jon-Paul Kidwell, chairman of the Oneida County (N.Y.) Young Republican Club, for alerting me.
