Talked Out of Retirement
Congratulations are in order for Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.), who decided today to run for re-election after announcing his retirement from Congress last week. It took an outpouring of support from constituents, colleagues and conservatives, including Heritage’s Ed Feulner, who broke with tradition and signed a coalition letter urging Shadegg to reconsider. (Read my personal plea to Shadegg.) Hats off to everyone who made it happen, especially my fellow RedState contributors Ben Domenech and Erick Erickson, who led the charge in the blogosphere.
