The Jeannette (Pa.) Jayhawks won the WPIAL Class AA boys’ basketball championship today, giving the school a rare accomplishment this school year: football and basketball titles.

The victory cemented Terrelle Pryor’s status as the best athlete in Jeannette history, and one of the greatest ever from Pennsylvania. His accomplishments won’t soon be forgotten in the blue-collar town of Jeannette. He’s certainly brought a tremendous amount of pride to this city I’ve visited on many occasions.

In today’s game, Pryor had 39 points, 24 rebounds and 10 blocks. With football powerhouses Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon and Penn State vying for his services next year, today’s achievement only ups the ante.
