It galls me that this banning of earmarks comes up after the GOP-Republicans are booted out of congress. When the GOP-Republicans held majority control of congress and the executive branch they gave us the biggest earmarks on record (and not a word from a Republican was heard).... now though, earmarks are for sleazy politicians and no virtuous pol should be associated with them. This double standard is just another sign of the GOP-Republican culture of corruption. I do indeed think earmarks should be accomplished in a more transparent way but this ban now that the GOP-Republicans are out of power is for hypocrites.</description>
