It must be my lucky day. This morning at the start of the Personal Democracy Forum, my name was pulled in the drawing for a Nokia N95 smartphone. I can’t remember the last time I won anything, so this came as quite a surprise.

I’ll be in New York today and tomorrow for this year’s Personal Democracy Forum: Rebooting the System at Frederick P. Rose Hall, the home of Jazz at Lincoln Center. You can follow what I’m doing on Twitter or get a complete picture of what’s happening at Summize.

Tomorrow afternoon I’m speaking on a panel titled, “Think-Tanking 2.0: Moving Ideas and Policy in a Networked Age.” I’ll be joined by Peter Leyden of the New Politics Institute and moderator Allison Fine, author of “Momentum: Igniting Social Change in the Connected Age.”

I’ve already seen many friends here. There’s also a much stronger presence of conservatives than last year — both in attendance and on the speaking agenda. That’s good to see, and credit goes to Micah Sifry (pictured at right with Andrew Rasiej) for making that a priority.
